The original layout of formal living room and casual family room wasn’t being used by the new owners of this 1992 home. The family room in the back of the home had so many openings (ie: windows and a french door entrance to the formal front living room) that made furniture layout challenging.
Here is what we changed:
–removed french door to create large wall for furniture placement
–removed carpet to extend the wood flooring
–removed original fireplace surround tile and formal mantel
–added reclaimed barn beam for fireplace surround
–added new tile surround and spray painted brass fireplace accents black
With the new paint colors and furnishings, the casual family space now allows for a sectional sofa and entertaining area for the young family to enjoy!
