ABOUT PROJECT
This house was laid out like a typical 1992 home, with formal living and dining room in front and family spaces in back. As many young families have found, we don’t use formal spaces like previous generations. This family was no exception and wanted to use the floor plan more efficiently.
Here is how we created the new spaces:
–removed french door between the front and back living rooms to create more wall space
–extended the new oak flooring from entry into the new office
–added light soffit for built in
–added stock cabinetry as built in bookcase to help with budget
–replaced front door to add light and frame view
The final use of the new defined areas have gone from a dark entry and rarely used front room to the inviting spaces they are today.
What great locations to welcome guests or enjoy a quiet read!
