ABOUT PROJECT
With all the extra cooking we are doing at home these days, a well functioning kitchen is even more important. This 1960’s kitchen had original cabinets and was dark and depressing. Brightening the kitchen with new cabinetry and increasing function was requested. The homeowner also wanted to add character to their space.
Here is what we changed:
–removed half wall and extended quartz counter-top to open up room
–installed reclaimed wood shelving with handcrafted metal brackets
–continued existing oak wood flooring into dining/kitchen
–removed soffit and extended new white cabinets to ceiling
–added organizers in cabinetry like adjustable shelving & roll-outs
–added faux brick tile to back of chimney wall
Brightened and fresh, this kitchen now has elements of character and increased function that are enjoyed by all members of the family. What a fun place to fix the next meal!
