ABOUT PROJECT
A 1950’s ranch home usually has small bedrooms, small kitchens and often doesn’t have space for a dining room. The home owner had decided to do their project in phases.
They added an attached 2 stall garage with 2 bedrooms and bath above last year. This year they removed the 2 bedrooms and bath on the main floor to create the open concept kitchen/ eat in dining to meet their vision. Next year the original kitchen will become the mudroom/ main floor bath.
As you walk in the front door, you now see the purpose for the original arched opening to the next eat in kitchen (the arched originally led only to a hallway)
- The oak floors were continued from the main front living room into the new dining and kitchen space to create the continuous flow of the spaces and connect everything to the original floor plan
- The standard height ceilings feel “lifted” with the use of wall cabinets to the ceiling also adding valuable storage for the small home
- The medium quartersawn oak cabinetry adds warmth and creates architectural character along with function for this active young family to enjoy
- Modern details of new slate colored appliances, phone charging area, and TV viewing area bring this home into the 21st century
How enjoyable to now have a kitchen that works and flows with this modern family!
